Hardware replacement and testing
IT is installing hardware in preparation for the Oct. 4 transition to APeX at Saint Francis and St. Mary’s as part of the IntegrateIT program. You will see an increase in activity at both hospitals as technicians deliver, set up, and test more than 1,200 new UCSF computers and replace monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, and other equipment.
- Prepare:
- Consider removing personal items from your workspace so technicians can efficiently set up and test equipment and access outlets and ports without disturbing your desk.
- While there should be no disruption to patients, staff may need to verbally let patients know why there are technical personnel in the area. See what you can share with patients here.
-
Reminder: Please do not move, disconnect, or turn off any of the new devices, or remove stickers of any color that have been affixed.
See the testing schedule and learn more.
To free up network ports for critical UCSF devices, technicians may be removing some desk phones in certain areas. Also, CommonSpirit Health desktop computers across Saint Francis and St. Mary’s locations may be migrated to the UCSF Wi-Fi network instead of remaining on the wired network.
Move your computer files and data before Oct. 4
UCSF plans to complete its Information Technology transition on Oct. 4, 2025. Start transferring your Google Drive files to a UCSF-approved storage solution today. Microsoft OneDrive is a great option for ease in editing files from any device, working with colleagues on documents in real-time, and the ability to quickly search and find what you need.
