Hardware updates
UCSF IT has largely completed hardware delivery, placement, and testing at UCSF Health Hyde and UCSF Health Stanyan hospitals and clinics. Additional critical equipment is in the process of being delivered or will be deployed at go-live.
- Through Oct. 3: Laptops are being issued via in-person pick-up or shipping. Pick-up locations, hours, and laptop pick-up requirements can be found here. Note: Laptop issuance should take about 10 minutes, but wait times may vary. Thank you in advance for your patience as we work to get everyone set up on their new laptops.
- Oct. 4: WOWs, Flamingos (physician charting), and iPad carts will be deployed at go-live. Want to know what equipment your department has or will receive? Check the list of devices by location.
See important hardware reminders.
Move your computer files and data before Oct. 4
You need to transfer any Google Drive files you want to keep to a UCSF-provided storage solution. Microsoft OneDrive is a great option for ease in editing files from any device, working with colleagues on documents in real time, and the ability to quickly search and find what you need. Learn how to transfer files from Google Drive to OneDrive.
Note: If you have files containing sensitive or restricted data (known as Protected Health Information, PHI, or P3 and P4 data), when you transfer them to a UCSF-provided storage solution, they will be encrypted and you will not be able to access those files until you are using a UCSF computer on or after Oct. 4. For files containing PHI that you need access to prior to Oct. 4, it is recommended that you move them on Oct. 4 or very soon after.
For additional assistance with file transfer, please contact the UCSF IT Service Desk | UCSF Health Hyde and UCSF Health Stanyan hospitals.
